Under Construction

INSIDE THE BRAIN:
I know little knowledge about cameras beyond the directions of "Point and shoot." However, somehow, this simple knowledge has been enough for me to make photography something more than just a hobby. I haven't taken photography classes or lessons or read any interesting books on lighting and colors or on how to "do it right" as of yet.  But to me, and to many friends and family,  it is more important for a photograph to possess this certain alien quality- a quality which cannot be provided by any class, or any series of books, or any camera manual.  It is something farther beyond the megapixels of a camera,  and beyond the lighting, and beyond the editing and the cropping, and the other types of photo manipulation. It's something much larger than all that, I assure you.  It's something you don't always see. I don't really know what it is. I can't grasp it. It's a strange thing, - there is spirit. There is soul, there is message, there is theme there is story. There is beauty.

There is beauty all around is. Beauty in nature, beauty in people, beauty in objects, beauty in things visible and in things not. When I see beauty, wherever it may be, I don't stand in awe of it. I don't take time to admire it. I don't take it as it is. I refuse. I ask questions. I process it. A story floods into my head. A million different stories flood into my head explaining the most unanswered question of all time: "Why?" But most of all, from these stories, I see a picture. I see millions of pictures of this beauty in my head. I see different angles, different options, different colors and lighting, and I make it my personal responsibility to satisfy this hunger sparked in me: to capture my inspiration - to capture the beauty I see, in order to show it to someone else. My dream, my goal, my life ambition, is driven by the desire to be able to take something that I find beautiful and be able to capture it and show it other people; to show other people things they don't see, or might not have seen before and say "Look! See here? This is art! This is beauty! This is earth! This is life! This is what I've been talking about! Do you see it now?" And to have them see something they've never seen before.  Now, I mentioned at the start of this blurb that photography has become something more than just a hobby to me. This is true. But I failed to mention that, that is because photography has become part of my life.
